Speaking South Sudanese

I’ve shared with you all a few times some funny Sudanese-isms, and I have a few more from friends and colleagues today. Now let me preface this by saying that the people quoted here speak English approximately 1,056,349 times better than I speak Arabic, so there’s no judgment. It’s just that English is such a funny language!

From a work email:
“Ask questions if at all any, I will be at your exposure.”

From someone declining a wedding invitation, with regrets:
Our spirits will be there with you dancing together with those who will manage to attend the accusations.”

In a project planning discussion:
“To move forward on this, we will need [Joe Deng] to pinch it.”
