Long Easter Weekend

Sorry this isn’t actually posted during the weekend. We’ve had just awful internet over the past week, so it has been hard to get online and post. Internet issues aside, it was a truly wonderful Easter here! Easter is a very big deal in Sudan, and much of Africa, so we had both Good Friday and Easter Monday off, which made for a relaxing break from our normal routine.

Some highlights included:

-A beautiful Good Friday service, where we got to belt out “How Great Thou Art” with a few hundred other people who can sing those same words, though they have seen God’s greatness in such different ways

-A lovely yoga retreat on Saturday led by a visitor from Kampala that left me a little sore, but totally blissed out

-A joyful Easter Sunday morning, where we joined the throngs of people pushing into church

-Two fun BBQs with new friends and yummy Western foods (hamburgers! cupcakes!)

-A relaxing Easter Monday that gave John and I time to read, cook, and just enjoy being together. We also got to catch up with my grandparents on Skype, which was so nice.

All in all, it was a fun, restful, and grace-filled weekend. He is risen!
