Our Home

A few of our faithful readers have asked for more posts about our normal life that give an idea of where we live and what we do... so we thought a good starting point would be to give you a tour of our home!

John and I live on my organization's compound, so we have a private bathroom and bedroom, but share a kitchen and living room type outdoor space. So let me show you our room! Keep in mind as you look through these pictures that this is South Sudan, so while it may look pretty modest, by Sudanese standards, it is a palace.

Our library

Our bedroom
(John said I'm not allowed to caption this "where the magic happens." So I won't.)

Our well-used closet- with doors!

Our study

Our bathroom

It may not look like much, but it is our home and we're grateful for it! Just like in the US, it is still a refuge for us and a place for us to be together as a family... my "small, small family" as my colleague says. Just like Dekha told us back in DC, it is the love inside a home that makes it beautiful.
